Who's coaching

Coaches who've put in the work

A2Z is run by a tight crew of coaches and mentors who live the game. Every session is about more than drills — it's confidence, accountability and a love of hooping that players carry off the court, whether they're six years old or chasing a pro contract.

  • Player-first coaching that meets everyone where they're at — first dribble to pro.
  • Real reps at game speed — not standing in lines.
  • A culture that's welcoming to first-timers, rep players and pros alike.
  • A safe, positive environment where every player is supported.

About the founder

Meet Atto

My name is Athanas — though most people know me as Atto. I'm a basketball player and coach, and the game has shaped almost everything about me.

My journey started in 2015 with the Bacchus Marsh Lions, where I earned my place in the representative squad. From there I went on to play for five different clubs, competing across Big V Division 1 and 2 Youth Men's right through to Big V State Championship Youth Men's. Every team brought its own play style, challenges and coaching — and each one sharpened my basketball IQ and pushed me to keep improving.

My move into coaching came through Darren Hindle at Transition Sports, who showed me something that stuck: teaching the game makes you better at playing it. Under Darren and head coach Tim Devlin, I spent three years coaching at Transition Sports, and that's where the idea for my own program took shape.

I started out as AZ Basketball Skills Coaching, and when we secured our own facility it became A2Z Basketball — a permanent home for the work. It's more than a training program; it's a place for young athletes to build real skills, understand the game and fall in love with it. The mission is simple: empower the next generation of players to reach their full potential, on and off the court.

Every player who walks in gets coached like they could go all the way.

Don't take our word for it

Hear from the families and players who train at A2Z.

I've definitely seen her grow over the sessions — from being that nervous young baller to really having confidence. Her skills have improved, and it transfers through to the games.

Milan's skills and confidence have improved massively in such a short time. We've only been here three months, recently doing double sessions with Atto and taking some of the training home. It's amazing how much he's grown.

I was pretty nervous at first, but then I got the hang of it. When Atto introduced himself he was so welcoming.
